Full time, Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.00pm . You’ll work every third weekend (Saturday and Sunday) on a rota basis.

About the role

To be a great fit for this Vehicle Purchasing Coordinator role, you’ll already be fully up to speed with the Arnold Clark Sell Your Car process in a branch setting. It’ll be your job to provide coaching and training on the purchase process and ongoing support to our retail network, while maximising our performance with specific franchises.

You’ll manage daily performance to improve your targets for increasing conversion, accuracy and actively participating in setting and exceeding targets. You’ll be responsible for the day to day performance of branches, including compliance and security.

We’re looking for someone who’s highly self-motivated and can work on their own initiative. You’ll be an able influencer, and willing to act as an ambassador for the brand.

Day-to-day duties

  • Making sure we adhere to company policy and procedures in relation to compliance, security and health and safety.
  • Managing operational performance to improve on targets for increasing profitability, conversation, accuracy to reduce losses, actively participating in managing and setting performance targets.
  • Developing a culture of delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Promoting the highest standards of customer service while maximising performance in your branch.
  • Advocating for the company’s purchasing process and the correct and compliant appraisal of cars.
  • Developing a culture of high achievement and implementing best practice.

Essential skills

  • One year or more of experience in a successful customer-facing role, some of it in the retail sales marketplace.
  • The ability to educate and influence customers of all levels and act as a brand ambassador to achieve high performance.
  • The ability to communicate effectively and in a professional manner across the business and with customers.
  • Excellent time, interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • The ability to work calmly under pressure, to strict deadlines within a target-driven environment.
  • High levels of self-motivation and the ability to work on your own initiative.

Nice to have (but not essential)

  • A good understanding of the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong existing knowledge of cars and vans.
  • A keen eye for detail when inspecting vehicles to ensure the condition is accurately reflected on the online purchasing platform.
